SUPRA GROM # 2 Langfield Does it Again
Glenelg, SA, 3 February 2007
The 2nd annual Supra Grom Series, held on Lake Patewonga, Glenelg hosted some more searing weather for the wakeboarders last weekend.
Mitch Langfield took down fellow Queenslander, Jarrod Askew in the final head-to-head round of the second stop of the Supra Grom Series.
In his first head to head battle, Langfield fought off South Australian Local, Aaron Johnston, before matching up with Queenslander, John Harris. Langfield's determined riding got him through to the final head to head match up with Askew, where both groms laid down exceptional runs.
Askew went out to with his series of Nose Glides, Heelside 540's and tantrums. Langfield fought back with an off axis 7, switch 540, backside 540 and G-Spot, defeating his competitor in the process.
Event organiser, Josh Sanders commented "Another great weekend of Australian Grom Wakeboarding. The altitude of riding is advancing at such a pace, the Pro's will have to watch their backs!"
The 19 years and under Supra Girls division amped up the tempo with Victorian rider, Bec Gange throwing backrolls, and slob grabs. Alannah Aiken and Callie Davis came in second and third respectively.
The 14 years and under Jr Grom division proved Western Australian rider, Kuri Wickcliffe to be consistent. With his fellow WA rider, Ben Luckens out this weekend, due to injury, Wickcliffe took the win easily. Bradley Teunissen and Mitchell Askew, both from Queensland, laid down runs with crow mobes, half cabs and raley's to take second and third in the division.
Morgan Pfitzner was our only competitor in the 14 years and under division.
